Restoring Default Settings

Overview

This document describes how to reset the settings in Sandbox to their default states by deleting the relevant keys in the Windows Registry Editor. It details which keys in the registry have to be removed to restore the default settings in the Sandbox Editor.

Before following this tutorial, please try restoring the default layout settings from: View Menu -> Layouts -> Restore Default Layout.

As this requires registry modification, caution should be exercised when following these instructions. Not following the instructions carefully could result in a corrupt Windows installation.

Opening the Windows Registry Editor

Depending on the Operating System and the startup menu settings, you'll find the necessary program shortcuts in different locations.

Windows Vista / Windows 7

For Windows Vista & Windows 7, with the normal Start menu:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Type regedit into the Search box.
  3. Press Enter or click on Regedit.exe.

Windows XP / Windows Vista

For Windows XP and Windows Vista, with the Start menu set to the Classic view:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Click Run.
  3. In the Open: text box, enter regedit
  4. Press Enter.

Editing the Registry

  1. In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crytek
  2. When you find the folder, highlight it and press Delete, or right-click and select Delete.

The default settings will be restored the next time you start the Sandbox Editor.
