Civilization Online is based on the best-selling turn-based strategy game series, Civilization, created by the legendary game designer Sid Meier. The Civilization series is known for its addictive and engaging “just-one-more-turn” gameplay. Using CRYENGINE®, XLGAMES is developing the franchise title into an MMO (Massively Multi-player Online game) that expresses outdoor environments outstandingly to create a new genre of online game bolstered by the unique heritage of Civilization.

CryENGINE licensees since 2007, XLGAMES have already used Crytek’s all-in-one development tool in the creation of ArcheAge; an MMORPG released earlier this year in South Korea and Japan. Civilization Online is currently in development, and the first release is scheduled for Korea.
